Fordhall Farm a Community Owned Farm!

Updated: Mar 23, 2020

Fordhall Organic Farm, in Market Drayton, north Shropshire, is England’s first community-owned farm following a high profile campaign in 2006. At the time over 8,000 people across the world supported siblings Charlotte and Ben Hollins to save their family home. Now owned by the community and farmed by Ben Hollins, Fordhall is a wonderful example of community spirit and real organic farming. Plus they are completely FREE to visit – so what are you waiting for?Visit them! They have three walking trails weaving around the farm, taking in the beautiful countryside. They offer the perfect place for a leisurely walk, to escape the hustle and bustle and immerse yourself in nature. Young adventurers can climb trees, paddle in the river, run through the fields, search for minibeasts, dip a net in the river and cool off in the shady woodland. You’re sure to encounter a few farm animals during your visit as Fordhall is a working farm, and you’re likely to see plenty of wildlife along the way too as they farm organically and in harmony with the environment. In fact, they have been farming organically since the Second World War following the forward thinking of the late Arthur Hollins.
